We had 36 players battle each other and the conditions on the course this past weekend at the Battle at the Bridge in Forest City, IA. This was our 2nd stop on the 2013 Discraft North Iowa Tour! Thanks to mother nature dumping over a foot of snow on the course just days before the event, players had to play in 4-6 inches of very slushy wet snow, lots of standing water and downed trees and branches that were cleaned up as best as possible the night before.

Our next stop is just 3 weeks away and we are going across the border to Albert Lea, MN for the Bancroft Bay Open on Saturday May 25th! Let’s hope the weather is better and we go over 60 players!!!!
Also at the BBO, NorthStar Disc Golf will be giving away a Discraft Chainstar Portable Basket!! We are only going to sell 25 Tickets for $20 each, so get yours ASAP! All proceeds will go to tournament costs for the two PDGA sanctioned tournaments we are running this summer.

2 Rounds of 21 Holes
Hour Lunch Break between Rounds
Women and Juniors will play from Red Tees all day
All Men will play White Tees for the 1st Round
Intermediate will play White Tees again for the 2nd Round
Open and Advanced will play the Blue Tees for the 2nd Round

*Will be determined during Lunch Break based on 1st Round scores.
*Open Flight limited to Top 25% of All Men.
*Advanced Flight will have the larger half of the remaining Men.

Open Men – Cash to the Top 40%
*Total Purse = $19 per Open Player + $1 per Advanced Player + $4 per Intermediate Player

*Two Rounds of 9 Holes in the morning.

*Men will be Flighted during Lunch Break into Open, Advanced, Intermediate.
*Top 25% Men into the Open Flight.
*Remaining Men will be split in half to Advanced and Intermediate, with the larger half going to Advanced if necessary.
*Cash Payout for Open Men.
*NorthStar Voucher Payout for Advanced, Intermediate, and Women.
Directions to the Course:
DO NOT enter Rockford from the North from the Avenue of the Saints. The Bridge will be closed and you will not be able to get to the park from this direction.
Get off at the Nora Springs Exit 195 (Co Rd S70/Zinnia Ave) and take that South.
Turn left at 215th St.
Turn left on Co Rd B47 into Rockford.
Turn Right onto Main Ave.
Turn left at 1st St, go 1 block and you will be at the park.

It was a great day for disc golf in Franklin County! We had 56 total players, 48 Men, 6 Women, and 2 Juniors.

We are quickly approaching the Franklin County Classic and the start of the 2013 Discraft North Iowa Tour! On April 13th, disc golfers throughout Iowa and Minnesota are expected to attend this years tournament, which, for the first time, will use both the Hampton and Coulter disc golf course in one tournament.
